Nothing to see here, move along!

I'm still not dead, I just can't think of anything to write about. So, here are some pictures to entertain your brain.

But I made stuff!

Have a great weekend!

I thought Bees were industrious??

Remember the very first entry I made here when I said I tend to start projects, and not finish them? Yeah, about that.. How long has it been since I have written anything to my adoring fans? (All three of you!) Sorry, it's in my nature to be a scatterbrain. Anyhow, I have been busy with other things! We've been crafting away. Little Bee is now making sugar skull magnets and other things out of really cool rocks she finds out at the ranch where she boards her over sized dog. (for those who don't know, that would be her horse, Whisper. He's really a little horse. His name is ironic since he's the loudest horse there!) Back to the rocks, they are very cute and will be in the shop soon.

How cute are these??
Being my usual self, I am working on a million things and finishing a very few. There are cool hip flasks in the shop, a Burlap Wreath, a new cute bracelet, and a few new key chains and lanyards. I like the flasks the best. They are kind of his and hers, although sold separately.(<-- Click those and go see!) The wreath is very cool if you are into the rustic look. It even has butterflies to give it color and brightness.

This would look great on your door!

So, ok, I haven't been keeping up here, but I have been trying to keep the shop stocked. So go check it out!

Today is also the 4th of July. Have a great one! Remember to stay safe, watch your pets, don't let your kids do stupid tricks and have a lot of fun!

It's finally done!!

I never thought I would finish with that bird cage/fairy home. It's DONE!!! Yes, I'm rather happy about that. (in case you couldn't tell) It's been months of lacking inspiration, finding the right things, gluing, cutting, searching, swearing, beading, and imagining. Mostly, it's hard to think like a fairy. Go ahead, try it, I'll wait.

See? Not so easy, huh? Anywho, here are a bunch of pictures of it in the making and all done.

Want to own this amazing piece of art? Good! Go here!( <--- Seriously, click that!)

Another day, another unfinished project, or is it?

I have been working pretty hard lately at making and adding lots of stuff to the shop. (<--- clickety click!) I still haven't finished that damn fairy garden birdcage, but I did get the little house decorated, a cute little birdbath made from a sea shell and a golf tee installed, and the green moss carpet in. I've been like a crazed woman hell bent on finishing off all those feed bags. I was having trouble motivating myself to make them because the handles are a bitch to make and attach. So one day, as I'm researching on Pinterest (Read: wasting time) I ran across the same bags, but with grommets and rope for handles. Seriously?? Why the hell didn't I think of that?? We promptly went out and bought grommets, a setting tool, and rope. I made three bags that night, and am up to 8 in the last few days. That's more than I made in 6 months of the other kind! (And right here, I took a break and didn't type anything for over a week. Yeah, I know)

Aaaaand, a week later, I start typing again..

Ok, updates! The rock tumbler is a great investment! I wire wrapped several pieces of glass and made them into pendants. Can you believe I sold one?! She even left a really nice review.

"Very smooth stone wrapped delicately with wire. very beautiful and unique. Super fast shipping and packaged nicely. Smooth transaction. A++"

Thank you, Kelli! My daughter also bought several items from me, because she's the best kid on Earth :) So, I can't ever say that I've never sold anything again. YAY!!

I made a wind chime (<--click it!) from drift wood and tumbled glass yesterday. I like how it turned out.

Next update, I have a ton of bags cut and ready to be cleaned. I asked Little Bee if she would clean them if I pre-cut them. She said yes, but I don't think she really knew what she was getting herself in to. She keeps looking at them and leaving for the ranch to visit her horse. I would probably do the same thing though.

Enough blabbing for now. Have a great week!

Bird cages, aprons, and fat little pumpkins

So, I was supposed to be working on a fairy garden in a bird cage. At the moment, there is sand glued to the floor of the cage, and I have a little bird house that I can't decide how to decorate. I've set it aside for now. Hopefully, I'll find inspiration soon. Either way, it's sitting here, mocking me.

Of course, I still have plenty of other projects. I am never at a loss for something to do. I have a boat load of pet food bags that are supposed to be upcycled into reusable grocery bags. I have made a few, and they're in the shop. (<--Click there to check them out and buy one or five) Today, I felt like sewing. So, I whipped out twenty more bags, a prom dress, a replica of Cinderella's ball gown, and then made a seven course meal for six people. And if you believe that, you haven't been paying attention. I did, however, make an apron from one of the larger pet food bags. Strange? Well, yeah. But it's actually a great thing to have. Picture it, you're out in the garden planting out your zinnias, and you get all muddy. Oh wait! Your apron is water resistant. Your shirt is safe, and you can hose the apron off when you get done. (Personally, I would recommend taking the apron off before taking the hose to it, but that's your choice.) You could use your apron when you cook, clean, paint, craft, whatever! It's a handy thing to have around the house, and it's cute!

So, there it is. I was going to make another one, but it's after midnight and I'm a pumpkin. Tomorrow, maybe I'll look at that bird cage again. I might even work on it. Although, I'll probably just swear at it. I'm pretty good at that.

What the hell is that?

One of my favorite sketches from Saturday Night Live is Steve Martin and Bill Murray looking off into the distance saying '"What the hell is that?" from 1979. I find it completely hilarious.

I am often reminded of this sketch when Becky (Little Bee) comes home and sees the projects I've been working on. Sometimes the look on her face is very similar to Steve Martin's. However, she has never asked me to take her picture with any of these "deals". I can't imagine why! (Actually, yeah I can) Several months ago while researching projects (read: wasting time) on Pinterest, I found a neat little tutorial on making 'shrinkies' out of chip bags in the oven. Cool! I pinned it, and forgot it. Like most of the things I pin.

One day, I remembered it and just happened to have a couple of chip bags ready to be placed in the oven. I preheated to oven, lined my baking pan with parchment paper, and put the bags in. After the recommended time, I took them out and nothing had happened! NOTHING! Well, fine, I thought the oven temp was too low anyways. I turned it up, put the bags back in, and set the timer. I came back, and they had shrunk! This is one of those "Nailed it!" moments. It *kinda* looked like the pictures, it *kinda* looked like ruined beef jerky.

Not quite what I was hoping for. They were supposed to be cute little key chains. They are so not! Not cute by any stretch of the imagination. Maybe I should mail one to Steve Martin and one to Bill Murray, so they can re-enact that sketch. Hmmm, this might be an idea. Oh well, on to other projects. Becky sold a few of the upcycled grocery bags. I should make a few more, or at least get them halfway done and set them aside for something else.

A tale of 2 Bees

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. OK, that's a load of crap. I'm not really an author. This blog probably won't make me famous (maybe infamous). I just hope this blog entertains people and maybe helps us sell some of the stuff we make and list on Etsy. (<--- click that!) My sister and I like to craft. We like to create things and clutter up the house with half done projects. After I was injured at work and was no longer able to return, I had to find a way to make money. Why not actually finish a project and sell it on Etsy? So, I screwed around and procrastinated for about a year. I finally started an account, started making stuff and listing it for sale. I opened it on December 16, 2014. As of today, March 31, 2015, I have made 50 gazillion dollars, paid off my house, all of my bills, and bought a new car for me, my sister, and twelve of my closest friends. OK, that's a load of crap too. I haven't sold even one thing. I think it's cool stuff! Anyhow, I started the shop, and my sister decided to help as well. (Hence the 2 Bees, and not just one.) We made neat things, she took pictures, and I created the listings. Nothing sold, so I made a Facebook Page. (<---click that too!) We made more neat things, and nothing has sold.

So, here I am, typing away. As of right now, this blog is about our adventures in crafting and selling. Who knows though, I might have a couple drinks and decide that you all need to hear about my chickens, or the dogs, or some bizarre theory that's running around in my head. I'll try to stick to the crafty stuff, and not the crazy stuff. I'll also try not to swear, but I'm not promising that I won't. So, if you are offended by "bad words", this probably isn't the place for you. If you have a wild sense of humor, a love of reading blogs by lunatics and idiots, or you're just bored, hang around. We'll try to keep you interested.
